Yes! All of our therapists accept BCBS PPO and Aetna insurance. We can also provide a monthly superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for out-of-network reimbursement.

Sliding scale rates are also occasionally available based on financial need.

The biggest goal of our free 15-minute consultation session is for us to mutually decide if we are a good fit before scheduling our first therapy session. Some of the things we will discuss include:

• What led you to seek therapy

• An overview of approaches used by our therapists

• Your insurance, scheduling, and other logistics

• Any other questions you might have

Every first therapy session will begin with your therapist learning more about you and/or your family, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of your sessions.

From there, depending on the modality used and your goals for therapy, the intake process may continue with a family assessment (the Marschak Interaction Method), or further questions related to your own attachment history. Any further intake processes will be discussed with your therapist during your first session.

That’s totally okay! Sometimes you just know that you need some support, even if you don’t practically know what that support may look like. Your therapist will discuss options with you in your first session, and may even recommend further discussions or assessment(s) to help make recommendations about what may be the most helpful fit.

No! We usually recommend sticking with one modality at a time, but some compatible modalities may be combined, in discussion with your therapist, to meet your specific needs. You may find that you meet an initial set of goals with one modality and then have a new set of goals that will be best met with a different modality—and that’s normal! Continue to stay in communication with your therapist about what you need. This is a collaborative process!

Great question! Child therapy can fall in the category of either individual therapy or family therapy, depending on what the goals are and who is involved in treatment. For the purpose of distinguishing between adult and child individual sessions, we refer to child individual session as “Child Therapy.”

That being said, anytime a child is involved in therapy, whether individual or family sessions, it is important for our therapists to check in periodically with caregivers apart from the child. This is to ensure both therapists and caregivers have the necessary information to provide the best quality care to the child.
